We started the Great Northern Sled Dog Walk back in 2012 with a sponsored walk over the Humber Bridge in Hull. We raised £2570 for the charity Ruddis Retreat.
The event was televised on the local news and was reported in many of the local papers.
We have since repeated the walk a number of times raising over £1000 again for Ruddis Retreat.
This year we wanted to go back to the Humber Bridge and raise money not for just one charity, but two. Ruddis Retreat and Breast Cancer Care (a charity close to our hearts as Faye was diagnosed with Breast Cancer two years ago and is now in remission)
The walk will take place on Saturday 30th December 2017 at the foot of the east side of the bridge and we will walk over the bridge and back again with our sled dogs. The walk is approximately 5 miles.
A big thank you to MM DogGear for donating a Walking Belt and Lead, which will be given to the person who raises the most sponsorship money.
Take a look at their website, they have a great range of Belts, Collars, Leads and Harnesses at great value prices. MM DogGear will be attending the 2017 walk in Hull and will be able to bring any pre-ordered items for walkers to collect.
We are also hoping to have a specially designed “limited edition” walking belt to commemorate the 2017 walk, with pre-orders opening soon.
Please help us, by registering to take part by filling in the form below and we will send you the sponsor form to enable you to collect sponsorship for this event.
We look forward to walking with you and your dogs over the Humber Bridge.
