Exercise

Be careful not to overdo it.Although Siberians are a breed that require quite a lot of exercise, it is not advisable to over exercise a husky puppy. Gradually building up the amount of exercide given, is the best way to go up until at least 12 months of age.

Take your puppy for 15 minute walks to start with building up to a couple of hour long walks by the age of one.

Also be aware that puppies may severly injure themselves, if over exercised, particularly paying attention to huskies that may want to run up and down stairs. This may cause huge problems later in life.

Once a husky reaches adulthood, you cannot give him too much exercise. Huskies, a breed born to pull sleds over long distances, can quite easily run for 50 miles per day.

Husky puppies can be taught to pull a light load from between 3 and 6 months old, getting them accustomed not only to the weight to be pulled but also the wearing of a harness and more importantly the commands given by the owner.
