Zinc Defiency

Siberian Huskies, rarely suffer from skin conditions and it is not a breed with a history of hereditary skin complaints.

However, one problem which the Husky does suffer from, although the incidence is relatively low, is zinc defiency. This appears to be a breed related condition and usual symptoms are bare patches of skin and itchiness, particularly on the face. The problem is easily treated by the addition of zinc tablets to the diet and a skin treatment to reduce the irritation.
