Julie, Mick & Ellie
"This year we were lucky enough to become owners of two Northernwolf Siberian Huskies .
Our first was Mishka, which is Russian for little bear, as the first time we saw her Mick thought she looked like a little bear. She is now 9 months old and is a very beautiful girl, everyone who meets her falls in love with her. She can be very highly strung but is very very affectionate.
One of Mishka's favourite places is curled up on the settee with me, generally with my foot in her mouth!!!!!!!! I think she thinks its a dummy!!
When I get up to go into the other room for a minute she wastes no time in jumping in my place with her head on my cushions sprawled out like lady of the manor.
One of Mishka's favourite pastimes is trying to catch flies, up to now I don't think she's actually caught one, but she is very persistent and one day she will be successful!!!!!!!
She can also spot a wasp or a bee a mile off and will try to hot foot it through hedges and walls etc, the only thing stopping her is the lead. Her eyesight is excellent and can spot insects and things that are buried in bushes and hedges
One day while we were walking she suddenly bolted under a hedge dragging me with her, when I managed to pull her head out I noticed she had something in her mouth, thinking it was a stone I wrestled it off her only to discover too late it was actually a baby frog, I screamed threw the frog and ran one way and Mishka ran the other way after the frog!!!!!!!!!!!
Mishka's bestest human friend is our neighbour Elaine. She loves spending time with Elaine especially when she is potting plants, Elaine plants them and Mishka rearranges them!!!!!!! Elaine has a cat called Penny who gives Mishka a wide berth, which is fine cause when Penny's not around this leaves Mishka free to sneak in and eat her biscuits.
During the recent hot spell Mick got the hose pipe out with the intention of spraying Mishka to keep her cool, Mishka however was having none of it and ran into Elaines house, jumped on the settee and buried her head under a cushion, I'm sure she thought Mick wouldn't be able to find her, how wrong was she???? Needless to say she got hosed down but was not best pleased. To sum Mishka up she is a very loving and loved mischievous minx who gives us all much pleasure.
Luka is our latest addition and as I write this he is 11 weeks old and we have only had him for a week. He is soooo laid back and nothing seems to phase him, the exact opposite of Mishka at this age. He loves his food and clears his bowl in about 3 seconds flat, Faye informs me he takes after his dad Dakota for this!!!!!! He's having 3 meals a day at the moment, but I'm sure we could give him 20 meals a day and he'd still be left wanting more.
It's still early days but as each day passes Luka and Mishka seem to be bonding more. However we still have to play referee, as playtime can soon escalate into world war three!!!!!!!!!! Having said that they are having more and more moments of snuggling up together and don't like to be separated for too long which makes us optimistic that they will be best of buddies in time to come. Watch this space for more developments on Luka.
We'd just like to say how fantastic Richard and Faye have been, they have given us so much support over the months even at times when their lives have been turned upside down with Faye's serious health problems, and we regard them as good friends. Finally a big thank you to Richard and Faye for giving us the opportunity to be the proud owners of two wonderful Huskies who are a very important part of our family.
Julie, Mick and Ellie."
We've not known Jules and Mick very long at all, but it feels like they've been friends for a lifetime. Along with their daughter, Ellie, they are such a loving and caring family, which their dogs, Mishka and Luka are very much a part of. Julie and Mick have gotten us both through some very difficult times just recently and we want them to know not just how grateful we are for this, but also for giving our babies such a wonderful home, they couldn't be with nicer people. Their friendship means the world to us, as does Ellie's to Shania and Oliver. Thanks for everything guys. Can't wait til your next visit, enjoy your page.
